The wing beat of a butterfly – as it is called basically – can change the weather on the other side of the world. Maximum coaching benefits with minimum and precise use of methods is, therefore, also the philosophy of wingwave, a short-term coaching method, which can create a positive emotional climate in the world of experience of a human being at an astoundingly fast pace.
In this book – a revised and an expanded edition of “EMDR in Coaching” –, the authors present the foundations of wingwave Coaching: a combination of NLP, a muscle test using Kinesiology and the benefits of awake REM phases:
“Especially in the dream phase, the sleep specialists have long been observing the so-called “Rapid Eye Movements”, in short “REM”. It is assumed that this rapid eye movement is accompanied by the intensive “storage” of all the sensory impressions and emotions, which torment our perception and nervous system during the day. (…) In the early 1990s, the American psychotherapist Francine Shapiro developed the consciously used rapid eyes movements for independent methods of post-traumatic stress, and gave it the name EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR rapidly became known in Europe as well. People were fascinated and alarmed by the new idea from America, to be able to simply “wave away” the mental blocks. In fact, rapid movements in front of the eyes play a significant role in this method. The therapists trigger eye movements of their clients by waving the finger in front of their eyes. (...) Even after many years of experience, we are amazed by this method over and over again, how quickly and sustainably the “awake REM phase” can help in case of these psychological traumas. (…)
