The performance of musicians

Iglesias Monrós, Berta (2018). Los entresijos de la interpretación musical. Análisis de la capacitad de rendimiento escénico del intérprete musical con la aplicación de coaching wingwave: Conservatorio Superior de Música del Liceu.

As part of her thesis, Berta Iglesias Monrós examined the performance of 27 musicians before and after wingwave coaching. The results show an increase in performance and mood after using wingwave coaching and a reduction in pulse beats per minute; fifteen days later the mood remains stable. Thus, the lower the stress, the greater the performance. Ultimately, the effectiveness of wingwave coaching in improving the performance of musicians in the short and medium term is confirmed.

The background of the study is that between 80 and 90% of all musicians, especially students, lose musical level during a concert compared to their performance during their studies. They focus more on technique than on music and feeling. Approximately between 60-70% of the musicians, depending on the examination, suffer from stage fright, which has negative consequences on the musical performance.

The study was conducted with 27 people, 7 men and 20 women. They are between 18 and 52 years old. The average age is 30.5 years. They are all musicians and play the following instruments: transverse flute (2), oboe (2), clarinet, bassoon, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet (2), horn (3), bombarde, violin (4), viola (2), cello (2), piano (3), guitar and voice.

Thanks to the wingwave coaching sessions, an improvement in performance perception and emotional state has occurred. In view of the results of the study, it can be confirmed that there is a whole world of emotions behind the performance. When these emotions are balanced (by wingwave coaching), they become the entrails of an ideal performance and let te technique acquired bright for itself.
